Kingfisher Insurance supports young classic car enthusiasts with the launch of two exclusive new club partnership schemes
Kingfisher Insurance is delighted to announce an exclusive partnership between our classic vehicle insurance brand Peter James Insurance and two MG focused enthusiast clubs. The new partnerships will benefit owners of pre-1956 MG cars, and the MG Midget and Austin Healey Sprite models.
Focused on meeting the needs of our customers, we provide a traditional broking service with personalised bespoke products. Continuing our 2024 success, this dual launch follows our announcement of a new partnership with The Kettle Club earlier this year, further cementing Kingfisher Insurance as a leading provider of classic vehicle insurance and Peter James Insurance as the brand at the heart of the classic vehicle community.
The MG Octagon Car Club has been in existence since 1969 and caters for the owners of pre-1956 MGs including the YB and original TF models.
The Midget and Sprite Club (MASC) was founded by a group of enthusiasts nearly 40 years ago, soon after production of Midgets and Sprites ceased.
The new schemes have been designed with input at every stage from club volunteers and members so that they are tailored to the specific needs of MG and Austin Healey Sprite owners. In particular, the design of the schemes have considered the specific requirements relating to ownership of the vintage MGs in the MG Octagon Car Club and the huge variety of activities undertaken by owners of Midgets and Sprites that ensure the continued enjoyment of these models.
In the current economic climate, value for money and the provision of true benefits to members is crucial, and the new schemes ensure that insurance can be seen as not only a benefit of membership, but truly supporting and contributing to the enjoyment and protection of classic vehicles now and for the future.
The schemes also support the clubs to invest in new resources and activities for its members, allowing them to focus on the next generation of enthusiasts, by offering young drivers various levels of cover. This includes accompanied driver cover – perhaps for driving the family classic, and policies for those that are lucky enough to own their own classic car where they are active members of vouched for a relative that is a member of the club.
Peter James Insurance, as part of the Kingfisher Insurance family, have an unrivalled reputation for the provision of specialist classic and vintage vehicle insurance having been at the heart of the classic vehicle community for decades. This close relationship gives the team an understanding of the importance of the organisations that form the backbone of the classic car community and the industry’s need to support them – in the form of club partnerships or sponsorships (such as the British Motor Museum).
Club members of the two clubs can now benefits from:*

Dave Youngs, Partnerships Director at Peter James Insurance said,
“These two clubs represent two very different eras of MG and therefore require a scheme that is truly tailored to their needs. We have been able to achieve that by working closely with the volunteers who run both clubs to design a scheme based on the exact requirements of members. These new insurance schemes will not only provide competitive insurance cover but will also invest in the clubs to ensure they remain healthy, active and able to invest in members’ benefits.”
