Kingfisher Collaborates with National Police Chiefs’ Council Vehicle Recovery Group meeting

Kingfisher PROSE and FUL NPCC Vehicle Recovery Group

Kingfisher Insurance is proud to announce our participation in the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) Vehicle Recovery Group meeting, which took place between March 20th and 21st, 2024. This collaboration reflects our deep commitment to safety within the vehicle recovery industry.

Working Together for a Safer Roadside

Alongside our key industry partners, including our sponsorship of PROSE (Professional Recovery Operator Safety Executive), Kingfisher is actively engaged in promoting the highest safety standards for vehicle recovery operators.

We recognise the inherent risks involved in handling, transporting, and storing vehicles. Our focus on safety extends beyond the vehicle recovery operators we insure, through to the latest legislation and recommendations affecting police officers, emergency responders, stranded motorists, and the public at large. The Vehicle Recovery Group forum represented an opportunity for a joined-up approach in addressing the latest developments.

Addressing Emerging Risks in the Electric Vehicle Age

Steve Craddock, Head of Motor Trade at First Underwriting (a sister company of Kingfisher), addressed the rising presence of electric vehicles (EVs) on our roads and the unique challenges they present for recovery operators. His discussion explored the impact on insurance for the sector, and effective risk mitigation strategies in this evolving landscape.

Kingfisher: A Champion for the Recovery Industry

As a dedicated insurance broker for vehicle recovery businesses, Kingfisher strives to be at the forefront of industry discussions on existing and emerging risks. We were honoured to participate in dialogue alongside recovery industry representatives from PROF, AVRO, PROSE; and the Motor Insurers’ Bureau, the Institute of the Motor Industry, and the Metropolitan Police.

Pauline Brookes, Head of Corporate Risks at Kingfisher, emphasised our commitment: “We are privileged to have contributed to these crucial discussions at the NPCC conference. Our goal is to share knowledge and learn from industry leaders to ensure our insurance and risk management solutions effectively protect vehicle recovery professionals and the public they serve.”
