Today, to mark International Women’s Day, Kingfisher UK Holdings has launched the new #shecan Kingfisher Women’s Mentoring Programme, to support and inspire women across the Group.
Across Kingfisher UK Holdings, 50% of their senior leadership team are women, as are 44% of their overall employee base. Although this is higher than average within the UK, they are keen to not rest on their laurels and are keen to do more to encourage women to remain within the Insurance sector and to achieve their career goals. Therefore, Kingfisher are launching the #shecan Kingfisher Women’s Mentoring Programme to help shape the next generation of female leaders within the business and within the insurance sector.
Senior female leaders from within Kingfisher UK Holdings will be matched with other female members of staff who wish to benefit from mentoring, for up to a period of 12 months.
Jacquie Boast, CEO of Kingfisher UK Holdings, explains:
“Despite the good representation of women within the business, we are continually fostering an environment to try new things, learn from mistakes and successes, and ensure that every member of staff has an equal platform to grow and become leaders. Here at Kingfisher we lead by example, and every day we want to learn how to improve and developed our values and culture to make sure we are an employer of choice for every section of our community. The new #shecan Kingfisher Women’s Mentoring Programme will be an additional element without our Diversity and Inclusion strategy and will help to show our female staff members that indeed… #shecan!”
